Bellevue named Tree City USA
|
The National Arbor
Day Foundation named Bellevue a Tree City USA. Bellevue, the
"City in a Park", keeps the honor for the 16th year in a row by
meeting the Foundation's four standards: a comprehensive
community forestry program, a Park's policy advisory board, a
tree care ordinance and an Arbor Day observance.
Bellevue also received a prestigious Tree City
USA Growth |
Award for demonstrating progress in its community
forestry efforts in education and public relations,
partnerships, planning and management, and tree planting and
maintenance. Bellevue’s 2007 Earth
Day/Arbor Day celebration is set for April 21, with volunteer
park enhancement projects throughout Bellevue. Residents can
register for the event by calling 425-452- 7225.
